Bio:  Bijo Mathew serves as Founding Director to the Technology Commercialization Center of the South-West Texas Border Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Lead Network at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In this role he is responsible for developing Center strategy and providing executive direction to programs created to enhance innovation and providing technical assistance to innovators pursuing ground breaking, high-impact, high-risk funding for applied and translational research opportunities. The Center participates in activities for the  promotion of science and technology-driven entrepreneurial capacity and provides clients with access to applied entrepreneurial education curriculum.  The Center’s Texas Federal Innovation and Technology Transfer Program manages the provision of technical and business assistance to increase awareness about proof of concept and early stage funding opportunities to advance the commercialization of technological and scientific innovations, new discoveries and/or technology transfer opportunities through participation in the highly competitive multi-billion dollar Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, America’s Seed Fund™.
