Cristal Glangchai

Luz Cristal Glangchai, PhD, is a scientist, entrepreneur, and mentor with a passion
for igniting the entrepreneurial spirit in girls and reducing the gender gap in STEM
fields and executive roles. Dr. Glangchai has been featured in the Wall Street
Journal, the TODAY Show, NPR’s The TakeAway, Mashable, Medium, TEDx San
Antonio, and SXSW Interactive.
She is the Founder/CEO of  VentureLab , a nonprofit organization that is helping
create the next generation of innovators and changemakers through free
curriculum, youth entrepreneurship education programs, and teacher training in
the entrepreneurial mindset. And she is the author of the Washington Post and
USA Today Bestseller,VentureGirls: Raising Girls to be Tomorrow’s Leaders.
Previously, Dr. Glangchai served as the founding Director of the Blackstone
LaunchPad at the University of Texas at Austin and the founding Director of the
Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Trinity University. Prior to this, she
ran the Idea to Product program at UT Austin, and was the founder of NANOTaxi,
a nanotechnology drug delivery company.
She received her B.S in Mechanical Engineering, her B.A. in the Plan II Honors
Program, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of
Texas at Austin. She also holds two doctoral certificates in Nanoscience and
Nanotechnology and Molecular Imaging for Diagnostics and Therapeutics from UT
