Director of Development and Partnerships

Jill Vassar is the Director of Development and Partnerships at one of San Antonio’s newest non-profits, EPIcenter (epicenterus.org).  EPIcenter is transforming an historic power plant into a world-class center that will serve as a cradle for invention and a catalyst for new energy innovation and advancement.  She oversees fundraising for this $75 million project and is part of the organization’s executive leadership team.

Jill has more than 25 years of nonprofit experience in economic development, strategic planning, governance, marketing, and development.   She was the first Director of Advancement at Good Samaritan Community Services, where she led planning, marketing, branding, and fundraising initiatives for this $4 million social service agency with 12 programs running in five (5) South Texas cities.

She is a former Vice President of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation where she recruited manufacturers, back office operations and warehouse/distribution facilities to San Antonio.  In that role she successfully attracted 3,400 jobs and over $87 million in investment to San Antonio.

Jill is active in the community, having served on such Boards as the Witte Museum, Charity Ball Association, St. Luke’s Episcopal School, and the National Charity League San Antonio Rose Chapter.  She and her family are active members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.  

She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in economics from Wellesley College and is an alumna of Leadership San Antonio XXV.
